Your photos are private.
Our measurement should be clear.
Your photos stay on your device
HEIC files are read and converted in your browser’s memory. We don’t receive your photos, filenames, image contents, camera details or GPS metadata from the converter. JPG and ZIP downloads are created locally. We don’t copy the original photo metadata into the JPG.
Clearing the batch or closing the page releases the app’s references to your files and results. Files you download stay on your device until you delete them.
Usage analytics: not enabled yet
We’re preparing to use Umami for cookie-free site analytics. The current site does not load the Umami tracker. The information below describes the planned basic measurement, not data we are already collecting through Umami. We will update this notice to match the actual configuration before enabling it.
What we plan to measure, and why
- Page visits and visit timing: to see which tools and instructions people find useful.
- Referral sources and campaign information: to understand how people discover the site, including search engines and links from other sites.
- Browser, operating system, device type, screen size and language: to prioritise compatibility testing, improve smaller-screen layouts and decide which translations would help.
- Approximate country, region or city: to understand broad audience needs. This is inferred from the connection, not your phone’s GPS.
Basic Umami tracking can include page addresses, titles and URL query parameters. Please don’t put personal or confidential information in page URLs. We will confirm which fields are enabled when the setup is complete.
What this does not tell us
Pageview analytics does not show us your photos or whether a particular photo converted successfully. We are not adding session recordings, advertising profiles, or custom events containing file information as part of this privacy wording update. If conversion-success or error counters are introduced later, we will describe them here before use.
Cookie-free doesn’t mean no data processing
Umami’s standard tracker does not use cookies. In its default setup, Umami processes an IP address and browser information to derive approximate location and a rotating, pseudonymous visit identifier. The raw IP address is not stored as a field in standard analytics records; service providers may still process or log it when operating their infrastructure. We won’t describe this as “nothing is tracked” or promise absolute anonymity.
The analytics hosting provider, retention period and enabled options are still being configured. We will publish those details before activation. We do not sell your photos or usage data.
Website hosting and email
Cloudflare hosts this site and receives ordinary website requests, including your IP address and browser information. It may process request data for delivery, security and operational logging. This is separate from photo conversion.
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include so we can answer your enquiry. Please don’t send customer photos, passwords or sensitive documents.
